J K Tools is right in the middle of the madness that is Chawri Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Aggarsain Market near Ajmeri Gate, you know how packed the streets get. We are on the first floor, which helps a little with the noise, but you can still hear the rikshaws and the people shouting down below all day. Being near the metro station is a plus, otherwise getting here would be even harder than it already is. Our shop is small and packed with hardware. We try to keep things organized, but when you have so many different tools and bits of metal in one place, it’s a constant struggle. We know where everything is, though. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to this market for decades. They know the shortcuts through the alleys. It’s an old part of the city, and the building shows its age, but it’s got character. We spend most of our time answering questions and digging through drawers to find specific parts. There’s no air conditioning, just the old ceiling fans that have been there since we opened. It’s a busy, sweaty place, but it’s home to us. We don't spend money on fancy brochures. People just know we are here at 287/115 and they come up the stairs when they need something. It’s usually just a couple of us here, handling the orders and making sure the stock is replenished when things run low.
