Eastern Engineering Works

Eastern Engineering Works is located at C-86 in the Wazirpur Industrial Area. It is a place where there is always the smell of cutting oil and the sound of metal hitting metal. We have some heavy machinery here that has been with us for a long time. It is not a quiet office. It is loud and hot especially during the summer months in Delhi. We work with steel and other metals all day long. Most of the time we are covered in a bit of grime from the machines but that is just how engineering works. We take drawings or samples from people and try to make exactly what they need. Sometimes we have to try a few times to get the measurements just right on the lathe. The floor is always covered in metal shavings that we sweep up at the end of the day. We have been in Wazirpur for years and we know the other shop owners around C-86 quite well. We often borrow a tool or help each other out when a big job comes in. We don't have a big HR department or fancy titles. We are just workers who know how to handle metal. Our gate stays open most of the day so people can just walk in and ask about a job. It is a practical life and we don't have time for much else besides the work on the floor.
