Finding us can be a bit tricky if you aren't familiar with the area around Asaf Ali Road. We are tucked away in Gali Lajpat Rai, right behind the LIC building which is the main landmark everyone uses to get here. The lane is narrow and always packed with people and carts moving back and forth, but that’s just how this part of town is. We’ve been doing electrical repairs and motor work in this small space for a long time. The walls are a bit stained from years of smoke and work, and there are wires hanging in places where they probably shouldn't be, but we know where everything goes. It’s a noisy place with the sound of horns from the main road constantly drifting in. We don’t really bother with fancy uniforms or big signs. Most of our tools are old but they still work perfectly fine for what we need to do. Usually, the shop opens up early and stays open until the sun goes down, or until we finish whatever motor is currently disassembled on the floor. It’s dusty work and our hands are always black from the grease, but we’ve gotten used to it over the decades. Sometimes the electricity in the alley cuts out and we have to wait a bit, but there is always someone nearby to chat with. We just keep doing what we know and don't worry about the rest of the noise outside our door.
