Anand Knitwears

Anand Knitwears is located over in Sector 2 of the DSIIDC Industrial Area in Bawana. It’s a pretty standard industrial setup, but we’ve made it our own over the years. We spend our days surrounded by yarn and knitting machines that never seem to stop clicking. The floor is always covered in little bits of thread, no matter how much we sweep it. We make all sorts of knit items, mostly focusing on what people need for the different seasons. It gets really hot in the factory during the summer months, but we keep the fans going and get the orders out. My brother and I manage most of the daily stuff, from checking the quality of the wool to making sure the boxes are packed right for the trucks. Bawana is a huge place and it’s easy to get lost, but we’ve been at H 71 for so long that the neighbors all know us. We don’t do anything too fancy, just good, solid clothing that lasts. Sometimes the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves on the fly. It’s not a glamorous job, but there is something nice about seeing a pile of yarn turn into a sweater by the end of the shift. Most of our workers have been with us for five or six years now. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every single day.
