Atal Tools

You can find Atal Tools at 1300/23 in Balaji Market, which is inside the Sultan Singh Building at Kashmere Gate. If you know that area, you know how crowded it gets. It’s a constant maze of people and goods moving around. Our shop is tucked in there among many others. We deal in all sorts of industrial tools. It’s a lot of stock to keep track of in such a small footprint. We spend a lot of time climbing ladders to get things off the high shelves. It’s noisy outside with all the honking and the shouting from the market, but inside we just focus on the orders. We’ve been at Kashmere Gate for a long time. My father started this and now I’m the one looking after the day-to-day stuff. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's basically just shelves from floor to ceiling and a small counter where we handle the cash and receipts. We aren't fancy people. We just know our inventory inside and out. If someone asks for a specific wrench or a drill bit, we know exactly which pile it’s in. It’s a hard way to work sometimes because of the heat and the crowds, but it’s what we know. We just keep our heads down and serve the customers as they come in. It's a busy life but it's good and keeps us on our toes every single day.
