You will find A.K.& Sons at 178 Meena Bazar, right by the Jama Masjid. This area is full of history and a lot of people every single day. Our shop is old and has that specific smell of dust and old wood that you only get in these parts of the city. We have been here for a long time, and the space is quite small, so we have to be very clever about how we stack our goods. Usually, there is a lot of noise coming from the street, with tourists and locals all walking past. We sit on our stools and wait for customers, or we are busy unpacking bundles that just arrived. It can be hard to move around when we have a big delivery. We don't have computers everywhere or anything fancy like that. Most things are done by hand or noted down in our ledgers. Sometimes the rain leaks in a little near the front, so we have to move the stock back. It’s a busy life in the bazar, and you have to be quick on your feet. We know the neighbors well, and we often share a drink or a chat when things are slow. It is a traditional kind of business, passed down, and we just keep doing what we have always done. There is always something to fix or move, but that is how it is. It is just the way we live and work in this market.
