Ybds Dance Academy

We have our dance space set up at I-29 on Ratiya Marg in Sangam Vihar. It’s a simple studio where kids and adults from the neighborhood come to move around and learn some steps. We don't have mirrors on every wall or fancy flooring, but it works for what we need. Most evenings the place is full of noise and music. It can get pretty loud, and sometimes the neighbors probably wonder what’s going on, but it’s all in good fun. We started this because there wasn't much for the kids to do around here. We teach all sorts of styles, whatever the kids are interested in at the moment. Some days the humidity makes the floor a bit slippery, so we have to be careful. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after the classes. It’s just us running things, so we handle the music, the teaching, and the sweeping. Sangam Vihar is a busy place, and our little corner on Ratiya Marg is always active. We’ve had a few performances in the local park, which was a lot of work to organize. The costumes are usually stored in the back in some old trunks. It’s not a big corporate school, just a place for people who like to dance. We take it one day at a time and try to keep the energy up even when we are tired from our day jobs. We just like seeing people happy and moving.
