Sadhna Sangeet College

Sadhna Sangeet College is based in Ashok Vihar, Delhi, right in the middle of a busy residential area. We’ve been here for quite some time, and if you walk past our building, you will often hear the sound of sitars, harmoniums, or someone practicing their singing scales. It is not a huge institution with glass walls; it’s more of a traditional place where people come because they actually care about music. The rooms are a bit cramped because we have to fit in the instruments and the students, but it creates a nice atmosphere. Ashok Vihar can be a noisy place with Delhi traffic, but the music usually drowns that out once you’re inside. We don’t have a professional writer to do our 'about us' page, so this is just me explaining how things are. Our teachers are people who have spent their lives learning their craft, and they sit on the floor with the students to teach them. We get all kinds of people, from young kids to older folks who finally have time to learn an instrument. We don’t do big advertising campaigns. Most people find us because they live in the neighborhood or heard about us from a friend. It’s a very grounded place, and we don’t try to be anything other than a local music school. We just keep our instruments tuned and wait for the students to show up for their evening classes.
