Nish Dance Academy

You can find us right in the middle of the Main Bazar at Kamla Nagar. We are located near the old Robin Cinema, which most people around here know very well. It is a lively and crowded area, especially near the Old Subji Mandi. Our studio at 2893 is where we spend most of our evenings. The street, St Rajputana, is always moving with people and rickshaws. Inside, it is mostly just open floor space for the students to move around and practice their routines. We have some large mirrors on the walls that we put up ourselves when we first moved in. It is not a fancy air-conditioned ballroom with polished wood, just a practical place to sweat and learn some steps. Sometimes the music from the class spills out onto the street through the front door. We have had all sorts of people come through those doors over the years. Some are really good dancers, others just want to get some exercise. We do not really do big fancy performances every week, we just focus on the daily practice. The floor has some scuffs and marks from all the shoes, but that is how you know it is being used constantly. It gets a bit crowded during the peak hours after school and work finish. You might have to navigate through the market crowds to get to us, but that is part of the experience. We like the energy of the bazaar. It makes the academy feel like a real part of the neighborhood.
