Imperial Glass

Up here in Uttam Nagar, at A-101 Nanhey Park, things are always moving fast. Imperial Glass is tucked away in a spot that might be hard to find if you aren't looking for it. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a while, and we’ve seen shops come and go. We stayed because we know the people here. Working with glass is delicate, but it's also heavy labor. You spend your day lifting, measuring, and hoping you don't drop anything. The shop is a bit cramped because we keep a lot of stock on hand. You have to navigate around the tall racks carefully. My brother and I usually handle the front, and we have a couple of helpers for the cutting. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just find us by word of mouth or by walking past Nanhey Park. It’s a local operation through and through. The floor is usually covered in tiny scraps of glass, so we have to sweep every hour. It’s just the nature of the work. We aren't corporate people. We are just guys who know how to handle glass. If a window breaks in the neighborhood, folks usually end up here looking for a replacement. We just give them a fair price and get to work. It’s not complicated, and we like it that way. We just keep the business running one sheet at a time.
