Tamil Nadu House Canteen

Our place is situated in Chanakyapuri at number 9. People usually call us Tamil Nadu House Canteen. It’s a fairly quiet area compared to other parts of the city, but we stay busy enough. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now. The building is solid and does the job. We don’t put much effort into decorations or anything like that. We mostly just focus on the kitchen and making sure the tables are ready. Working in Chanakyapuri is a bit different because of all the offices and embassies nearby. We get a real mix of people coming through the doors. Some are in a hurry, others want to sit for a bit. We don’t have a big philosophy or anything. We just get the cooking done and serve it up. Sometimes we run out of things early, which is just how it goes. It’s a practical setup. We don’t spend money on ads. Most people find us because someone told them about the canteen. It’s a bit of a hidden spot at number 9, but once you find it, it’s easy to come back. We just try to keep things consistent every day without making a fuss about it. The staff knows the drill. We get in early, start the prep, and open the doors. It is a simple way of doing things, but it works for us.
