Being in Palika Bazar means we are right in the thick of things. It’s underground, so you lose track of time pretty easily. Our shop at M-14 isn't the biggest, but we use every inch of the walls for storage. Singhal Overseas has been here through all the changes in the market. The air conditioning in the bazar is okay, but it still gets stuffy when the crowds get thick on the weekends. You can hear the muffled sound of people haggling outside and the general hum of the market. We spend a lot of time under these fluorescent lights. It's a bit of a maze down here if you aren't a regular. We usually have boxes stacked near the entrance because there’s never enough storage space. It’s just part of the job. We know most of the other shopkeepers around us, so there’s always someone popping their head in to say hello or borrow a pen. We don't have a fancy website or a glossy brochure. What you see is what you get when you walk through the door. It’s a bit messy, a bit loud, and very busy. We just keep busy with our orders and try to keep things moving. There’s always something that needs fixing, like a flickering light or a squeaky door, but we get to it eventually. It’s just the way things go in a place like this. We don’t mind it much.
