Cottage Crafts Of India is located at A-50 on 9th Street, just off Road No. 4 in the Mahipalpur Extension. It’s a bit away from the main chaos of the airport area, which is nice. We focus on various traditional crafts, and our space is usually overflowing with items. We have things stacked in corners and on every available shelf. It’s a bit of a treasure hunt sometimes to find a specific piece, but that’s part of the charm. We spend our days coordinating with people who make these items and then organizing them here. The Mahipalpur area has grown so much lately, with new buildings popping up everywhere. Our street is relatively quiet compared to the main road. We don't have a big neon sign or anything. Most people find us because they were told about the place by someone else. We keep the doors open to let some air in, though it gets dusty. It’s just a few of us working here, so it feels more like a workshop than a business office. We enjoy the work because every item has a bit of a story. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We're just a small outfit trying to keep these crafts moving. It’s a lot of sorting, packing, and making sure nothing gets broken. Most afternoons we spend wrapping things in old newspaper for storage.
