Shining Handicrafts

If you’ve ever walked through the Old Mini Market in Janpath, you’ve probably passed by our shop. We are at Shop No. 4, right in the heart of Connaught Place. It’s a small space, like most of the shops in Janpath, and it’s always a bit of a struggle to find enough room for all the handicrafts we have. We’ve got things hanging from the ceiling and stacked on every available surface. Shining Handicrafts has been in this spot for years, and we’ve seen the market change quite a bit. It’s a very busy area with a lot of people walking by, especially tourists and students. We spend a lot of our time dusting the items because the city air is quite heavy and it gets in everywhere. There isn’t much room to sit down, so we’re usually on our feet talking to people who wander in. We don’t do any big advertising; people just see the shop as they walk past. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with all the shouting and bargaining in the market, but we like the energy of it. In the evenings, when the lights come on, the whole place looks a bit different and almost cozy. We close up once the crowds start to thin out. It’s just a small shop where we try to keep things tidy and help anyone who is looking for something specific.
