You can find Sawhney Ji Music Kendra at 905, Chawri Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Chawri Bazar, you know how crowded and lively it is. Our shop is right in the middle of all that energy. It’s a narrow space, typical for this part of the city, but we’ve managed to fit a lot into it. We’ve been here for a long time, and the walls are covered with instruments and parts. It’s not a modern, air-conditioned showroom. It’s a real music shop where things are piled up and you have to move carefully so you don’t knock anything over. We spend our time helping people find the right harmonium or sitar, and sometimes we do repairs right there behind the counter. The street outside is always noisy with rickshaws and people, but inside, we just focus on the music. We aren't a big chain store; it’s just a local spot where people who care about traditional instruments come to visit. We know the regulars who stop by just to chat or see what’s new. The lighting isn't the best, and the ceiling is a bit low, but it feels right for what we do. We just open the shutters every morning and see who the day brings. It’s a busy, cramped, and wonderful place to work if you love instruments and the history of Chawri Bazar. We’ve been part of this street for years and plan to stay.
