Our school is located at Plot No B 6 in the Qutub Institutional Area. It is a nice spot because it’s a bit away from the main noise of the city, which helps when you are trying to listen to music. We have students of all ages coming in here to learn various instruments and singing styles. On any given afternoon, you can hear the sound of a sitar from one room and someone practicing their scales in another. It’s not a corporate environment at all; it’s more like a community where people share an interest in traditional sounds. The building itself is pretty simple, with classrooms that have mats on the floor and old wooden cupboards for the instruments. We don't have a lot of high-tech equipment because that’s not really what we’re about. We focus on the teaching and the practice. The teachers have been here for years, and they know most of the families who send their kids here. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic when classes are switching over and everyone is trying to find their shoes or their bags in the hallway, but it’s a good kind of busy. We like being in this part of Delhi because it feels like a place where learning actually happens. There are no big advertisements or polished slogans on the walls, just the music and the people who want to learn it every day.
