Ashwani Dance Academy

We are located on Street Number 1 in Brahampuri, specifically at X/112. It’s a narrow street, so it gets pretty crowded when classes are about to start. You can hear the music from the end of the block most afternoons. We have some large mirrors and a wooden floor that we try to keep clean, though the kids always bring in dust. It’s a lively place, especially on weekends. We teach different styles, mostly whatever the local students want to learn. The space isn't huge, so we have to schedule the groups carefully. Sometimes parents wait outside on the stairs because there isn't enough room inside. We’ve got some old fans that rattle a bit when they’re on high speed. It gets sweaty and loud, but that’s just how a dance studio is. We have a small desk where we keep the registers and the sound system. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use a battery backup just for the music. The neighborhood is mostly houses and small shops. People know us because of the noise, but they don’t seem to mind. It's a regular part of the street life here in Brahampuri. We just keep the doors open and let the rhythm take over for a few hours every day. It’s a lot of work to manage the schedules and the music, but it is what we do.
