Ballet School

We've been over here in Chanakyapuri for a while now. It’s a quiet spot, which helps when we're trying to focus on the dancing. Most days the studio is just full of kids and a few adults trying to get the steps right. We have the wooden floors and the mirrors, nothing fancy, but it does the job. Usually, the shoes are scattered near the door because everyone’s in a rush to get started. It’s not one of those big fancy academies you see in movies. It’s just us. My coffee is usually cold by the time the first class ends because there's always someone needing help with a ribbon or a posture thing. We spend a lot of time on the basics. It gets dusty, we sweep it, and then the next group comes in. Sometimes the music skips if the player is acting up, but we just keep going anyway. It feels more like a community hub than anything else. People come in, chat for a bit, do their practice, and head home. There’s a specific smell of floor wax and old shoes that I’ve grown to like over the years. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people just walk by and see the sign or hear about us from a neighbor. It's a simple way to spend the afternoon. The windows let in some good light during the 4 PM session, which is nice. We aren't fancy people.
