Refreshment Corner

Refreshment Corner is a small eatery in the R K Puram Main Market, specifically in Sector 3. It’s a busy spot because the market is always full of people shopping or heading home from work. We have a large frying pan at the front where we make samosas and pakoras. The smell of hot oil and spices usually brings people in. It is a very simple setup with a few stools for people to sit on, but most just stand and eat. I’ve been running this place with two other guys for a few years now. We make tea in a large pot that stays on the stove all day long. In the mornings, we are busy with people wanting a quick breakfast before they head to the office. We don't have a menu card or anything like that. Everyone knows what we have. Cleaning up is the hardest part because the sugar from the tea makes everything sticky. We go through a lot of paper plates and napkins every single day. The market can be very loud with all the shouting and the traffic, but we are used to it by now. It’s a good feeling when someone tells us the tea was exactly what they needed. We just keep things basic and try to stay open until the market closes around nine or ten at night. The rain makes it hard because everyone tries to crowd inside our tiny roofed area to stay dry while they eat.
