Raghunath Kapur operates out of room 407 in the Delhi High Court. If you have ever been to the court, you know it is a maze of hallways and crowded rooms. Our space is small and tucked away, but it is where all the important work gets done. There isn't much room for anything other than desks and shelves full of legal volumes. We have to be very organized because space is at such a premium. Most of our day is spent in a rush, moving between the office and the various courtrooms. We wear our black robes for most of the day, and the office is often a place to grab a quick five-minute break and a glass of water. It is a very high-pressure environment, but we are used to it by now. The air is always filled with the sound of people talking about cases and the rustle of papers being flipped. We don't have any fancy art on the walls, just some old framed certificates and maybe a calendar. We get our lunch from the local canteen or the nearby stalls. It’s a very practical life. We don't have time for anything that isn't related to the law. People come to room 407 when they need help with their cases, and we do our best to provide it. It’s a busy, cramped, and totally authentic part of the Delhi legal world.
