Chitkara Furniture System

I’ve been at the workshop here on Pankha Road for a long time now. My hands are usually covered in sawdust by ten in the morning. Chitkara Furniture System isn't some fancy showroom where everything is shiny and untouchable. It’s a busy place. We spend our days measuring wood, cutting it, and putting things together. Sometimes the smell of varnish is a bit much, but you get used to it. The location at Rz- C- 26 is easy to find if you know the area. We have a lot of tools lying around and sometimes it's hard to find a clear spot to sit down and have tea. People come in asking if we can fix a broken chair or make a new cabinet. We just look at the wood and see what can be done. It’s loud because of the saws. Pankha Road is always busy with traffic, so there is noise from outside too. We don't have a big team of people in suits. It's just us working with our hands. Some days are slow and we just clean the tools. Other days, we are rushing to finish a big table. We try to keep things simple. If someone wants a desk, we build it. It’s not more complicated than that. We’ve been in this spot for years and the neighbors know us. The floors are never really clean because of the wood chips, but that's how a workshop should look.
