11 Hailey Road is a pretty well-known spot in New Delhi. That’s where you will find the Northern India Union Of Sda. It’s an old part of the city, and the buildings have a lot of character. We don't have fancy modern interiors, just the basic stuff we need to manage our community work. There are trees around the building which help keep things a bit cooler. We spend our time organizing events and keeping track of all the different local groups we support. It’s more about the people than the paperwork here. People come and go throughout the day, looking for information or just wanting to talk. We aren't a corporate entity, so things move at a bit more of a human pace. Sometimes the meetings go on for a long time, especially when we are planning for a big gathering. We have a small team, and everyone pitches in with whatever needs doing, whether it's answering the phone or fixing a chair. It’s a quiet place compared to the rest of the city. We don't do much in the way of promotion. The work we do speaks for itself in the communities we are part of. It’s a steady, calm environment where we just focus on helping out where we can. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the piles of documents get a bit high. It’s just part of the daily life in our office. We close up and head home usually around five in the evening.
