Maa Imports

Our place is at No. 1323, right by the Main Pull Mithai bridge. It is a very crowded spot, so there is always plenty of shouting and horns honking right outside the window. Since we handle imports, a lot of our time is spent waiting for shipments to finally arrive. Sometimes the goods are late, and other times everything shows up at once, which makes our small office feel even more cramped. We have occupied this space for a long time. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to actually do it. Usually, the day begins with a cup of tea while we look through the latest manifests. We have to be really careful with the numbers because a small mistake creates a lot of trouble later on. People stop by to drop off documents or just to chat about how the market is doing. The bridge nearby makes for a good landmark, so people do not usually get lost trying to find our door. It gets very dusty in this part of town, so we are constantly wiping down the desks. There is not a big team here, just a couple of people who understand how the whole system works. It is mostly about keeping things moving and not letting the piles of paperwork get too high. When the evening finally comes, things quiet down just enough for us to lock up and head home to rest.
