If you come down to Naraina at number 344, you will find us. Lal Handicrafts is where we spend our time making things by hand and getting them ready to go out. It is an industrial area so there is always the sound of trucks and other workshops nearby. Our space is filled with raw materials and half-finished pieces. There is a lot of dust from the sanding and cutting but we just wear masks and keep going. We don't have a marketing team or a fancy website. We just have our hands and the tools we have used for years. Every piece we make has a little bit of a different look because that is what happens when humans make things instead of machines. We drink a lot of chai during the day to stay sharp. The floors are concrete and the lights are those long tubes that flicker a bit when they first turn on. We spend a lot of time packing things into bubble wrap and cardboard boxes so they don't break during transport. It is hard work and our backs ache by the end of the shift but seeing the finished items lined up on the shelf feels good. We have stayed at this Naraina address because it is easy for the loaders to find us. We don't try to be anything we are not. We just make handicrafts and try to do it right every time.
