Natural Craft Woods Pvt. Ltd. is located over on Pankha Road, not too far from the D-Block in Janakpuri. It’s a bit of a noisy area with all the traffic and the shops nearby, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Our place always smells like fresh timber and sawdust, which I guess is better than smelling like exhaust fumes. We spend most of our days moving pieces of wood around and checking the grain on different slabs. It’s dusty work, and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. We have a few guys who have been working with wood since they were teenagers, and they really know their stuff. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of the time, the space is just filled with stacks of boards and a few half-finished projects sitting in the corner. People stop by to ask about different types of wood, and we just tell them what we have in stock. There isn't any big sales pitch here. We just show them the material and let them decide. Sometimes we sit outside on the stools during lunch and just watch the people go by on Pankha Road. It’s a regular life, making things out of wood and trying to keep the machines running properly. It’s not glamorous, but it feels good to see something actually get built by hand.
