J N U Food Court

You will find the J N U Food Court right inside the Jawahar Lal Nehru Uni at 12. Being on a campus like this means our life revolves around the students. It is a very different vibe than a regular street market. Things stay busy late into the evening because students are always out and about, talking or studying. We serve a lot of tea and quick snacks. The kitchen is always going, and the counters usually have some crumbs on them because people are constantly coming and going. We keep the prices low because we know how it is for students. Our tables are simple, and people often drag chairs around to make big groups. It can get quite loud with all the discussions happening. We have some regular staff who have been here for years and know many of the students by name. It’s a bit messy sometimes, especially during exam season when everyone is stressed and drinking way too much chai. We don't have any fancy menus, just the basic stuff listed on a board. The fans are usually spinning fast to keep the air moving. It’s a practical place for people to get a meal without spending much money. We stay open as long as there are people around. Working at the university keeps us feeling like we are part of something bigger, even if we are just frying stuff and cleaning up tables until the campus goes quiet.
