Gyatri Impex

You can find Gyatri Impex down in the basement of E-39 in Kalkaji. Being in a basement means we don’t get a lot of natural light, so we rely on those bright tube lights all day long. It stays a bit cooler down here in the summer, which is a plus, but it can feel a little cramped when we have a lot of stock coming in. Kalkaji is always buzzing, and the area around E-39 is no different. There’s always someone shouting outside or a scooter zooming by. We’ve set up our workstations to be as organized as possible, but there’s always a pile of boxes somewhere that needs moving. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. We don’t really do the whole corporate image thing. Our focus is strictly on the impex side of things—getting items in, checking them over, and sending them back out. The stairs leading down are a bit steep, so we’ve all gotten used to hauling stuff up and down. It’s physical work sometimes. We have a small corner for our computer where we handle all the customs stuff and emails. It’s not the most glamorous setup, but it’s where we’ve built our business. We know the locals and the tea guy knows exactly how we like our brew. It’s just a regular, hard-working office in the middle of a very busy part of Delhi. We keep things simple and just try to stay organized amidst the chaos.
