Gyan Book Bank

We are located at House No 23/20 in Hastsal Colony. It's very near the bus stand in Uttam Nagar East. Being close to the bus stand is good because people can find us easily when they get off the bus. Our place is basically a house converted into a book bank. It’s filled with old and new books. We focus on letting people find books they need without spending too much money. The rooms are full of stacks. Sometimes it feels like the books are taking over the whole house. It’s a bit dusty because of all the old paper, but readers don't seem to mind that. We spend a lot of time sorting through donations and new arrivals we pick up. It’s a quiet life most days, until the school exams start. Then it’s a mad rush for guides and textbooks. We have some chairs where people can sit and look through things before they decide to buy. It’s not a modern shop with bright lights or air conditioning. We just use regular bulbs and the natural light from the windows. The neighborhood is always busy, especially with the metro nearby too. We’ve lived here and worked here for a long time. People know us as the place with all the books near the bus stop. We just keep it simple and keep the doors open for anyone looking to read something new.
