We’re over in Sarojini Nagar, at C-440. It’s a busy area of New Delhi, but we’ve managed to carve out our own little workspace here. We don’t really do anything flashy. It’s just a place where we sit down and work on designs. Most of the time, the desks are covered in sketches and notes. We’ve been in this neighborhood for a long time, so we know the local scene pretty well. It’s a bit crowded outside, but that’s just Delhi. We handle various design projects, mostly just focusing on making spaces look decent and function well. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. People usually just walk in and we start talking about their project. It’s a very casual environment. We focus on the practical side of things. If someone wants a room done, we look at the space and tell them what’s possible. There’s no fancy jargon used here. We just use simple English and get to the point. Sometimes the phone doesn’t stop ringing, and other times it’s quiet enough to actually finish a drawing. It’s just how it goes for a small design team in the city. We keep it simple and just do the work. It’s not always glamorous, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep our heads down and finish the drawings.
