Working as Sehgal Architect And Interior Designe out of Paschim Vihar has its own set of challenges and rewards. We are based at A-2/43, which is a fairly easy spot to find if you know the blocks around here. The office is basically a hub of activity where we handle everything from basic floor plans to picking out the right curtains. It isn't a very large team, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute I might be talking to a contractor on the phone about a delivery delay, and the next I’m trying to explain to a client why a certain wall can’t be knocked down. The office gets a bit cluttered with catalogs and fabric swatches, and we always seem to be running out of pens. We don't really bother with the whole corporate image thing. We’d rather just focus on the practical side of things, like making sure the plumbing makes sense and the colors don't look terrible together. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood who just want a decent place to live or work. It’s a lot of long hours, and sometimes the sketches we make late at night have to be completely redone the next morning because they didn’t look quite right in the daylight. That’s just part of the job, really. We just keep at it until the client is satisfied with the result.
