We spend most of our days here in Phase 1 of the Mangolpuri industrial area. It gets pretty loud outside with all the trucks and workshops, but inside we just focus on the clothes and the patterns. It is a bit of a maze getting to No. 478/68, especially on Mondays when everyone is unloading stock. We have been in this spot for a while now. Some days are just about cutting fabric and others are spent fixing the machines or talking to the tailors about a specific stitch. There is always a pile of samples on the big table that needs sorting. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit and wait for the generator to kick in while drinking tea. It is not fancy here. There are threads all over the floor by five in the evening. We try to keep things organized but when you are busy making things, a bit of a mess happens. Most of the people around here know us by now. We do not do much fancy advertising or anything like that. We just show up, get the orders ready, and send them out. It’s hard work but it feels good when a project is finally done and packed up. The sun hits the front door around noon and that is usually when we take a lunch break. Just a normal day in the industrial estate, really. Sometimes we think about moving to a bigger place but this one feels like home for our machines.
