Up on the 12th floor of the Akashdeep Building, things stay pretty busy throughout the day. Our office is tucked away in the Iel Business Center, specifically in units 1201- 1202. Being on Barakhamba Road in Connaught Place means we are right in the middle of all the noise and energy of Delhi. Down below, the traffic is always crawling, and the sidewalk is packed with people, but up here it’s just us and the phones. At Cambay Hotels Resorts Delhi, we deal with a lot of the background work that goes into running places for people to stay. There are always files being shuffled around and spreadsheets being updated on the screens. It’s a typical office setup with desks, chairs, and a small area for making tea when the afternoon slump hits. The elevators in this building take forever, so we try not to leave too often once we’ve settled in for the morning. We spend a lot of time talking to the different properties and making sure the bookings and schedules are all sorted out. It’s not all fancy vacations and luxury for us; it’s mostly just hard work in a high-rise building. We have a good view of the city skyline, though it’s often a bit hazy with the city smog. We’re just a group of people working in the heart of the capital, keeping the gears turning and answering the endless calls that come through the front line.
