Hotel The Manor

We’ve been here at 77, Mathura Rd for quite a while now. The building is older but it holds up. Every morning the traffic starts early on the main road and you can hear it if you're standing outside the gate, but once you step into the lobby it gets a bit quieter. We spend most of our time making sure the rooms are ready for whoever is checking in that afternoon. Sometimes it's business travelers who are just here for a night and other times it's families visiting relatives nearby. We have a small kitchen where we make tea and breakfast. It isn't fancy, just normal food that tastes like home. The staff mostly lives close by so we know the shortcuts around this part of the city. We don't have a big shiny lobby with marble everywhere, but the beds are comfortable enough for a good sleep. Usually, our days are filled with changing linens, fixing a leaky tap here and there, and answering the phone when people call to ask for directions. Mathura Road can be a bit confusing if you aren't from around here, so we spend a lot of time telling people to look for certain landmarks. We just try to keep things running smoothly without making a big fuss about it. It’s just a regular hotel where people come to rest before they head out to do whatever they need to do in the middle of Delhi.
