Travel Destiny

If you head up to the first floor at No. 621 in Ashok Vihar, you’ll find us at Travel Destiny. It’s a small office, mostly filled with maps, stacks of brochures that nobody looks at anymore, and two or three ringing phones. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and the furniture has seen better days. The carpet is a bit worn near the door, and the desks are cluttered with notebooks and pens. It’s usually just a couple of us here, talking to people about where they want to go and trying to find the best way to get them there. Ashok Vihar is a nice area, and we like being on the first floor because we can see the street without all the dust coming in. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. Most people find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. The afternoon sun hits the windows pretty hard, so we usually have the blinds halfway down. It’s a quiet kind of work, punctuated by the noise of the printer or someone complaining about a flight delay they’re trying to fix. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep the energy up. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment. We just sit here, do our work, and talk to whoever walks in through the door. By the time we lock up at night, we’re usually ready for a quiet walk home.
