Sri Netaji Pilot High School

Down in Nellore, right where Mini By Pass Road meets Netaji Statue Road, you’ll find Sri Netaji Pilot High School. We are tucked into the Srinivasa Agraharam area of Ramamurthy Nagar. It’s a busy corner of town, and there is always something going on outside our gates. The school has been part of this community for a long time. We have students coming in from all the nearby streets every morning, carrying their heavy bags and chatting away. Our classrooms are simple, with wooden benches and blackboards that get plenty of use. The teachers here are mostly locals who have lived in Nellore their whole lives, so they understand the students well. It’s a noisy place during the lunch break when everyone is out in the yard, but it settles down once the bell rings for the next period. We have to deal with the usual school problems like leaky taps or fans that need fixing, but we get through it. The office is often full of parents checking on attendance or paying fees. We don’t try to be something we aren't; we are just a high school trying to help the local kids get through their lessons and pass their exams. It’s a lot of work every day, but seeing the students grow up and move on to college makes it feel like a normal part of life.
