Shree Mahashakti Marble Granite

We’re located at Plot No 23 in the Kalamboli Marble Market. It’s a huge market, probably one of the biggest you’ll see. There’s a petrol pump right nearby which is helpful for the trucks. Shree Mahashakti Marble Granite is just one of many shops here, but we’ve got our own way of doing things. The market is always a bit of a maze with all the different yards and blocks of stone. We spend the day moving pieces around so that the best parts are visible. It’s a lot of gray and white dust around here. You can hear the cranes working from early morning. We don’t have any polished speeches. We just know our stone. If someone comes in looking for something specific for a temple or a kitchen, we just walk them through the rows. Kalamboli is a heavy-duty place. Everything is on a big scale. We’ve got granite from all over and marble that’s been sitting for a bit. We try to keep things simple. Dealing with the heat in the middle of all that stone can be tough, but we just keep the water bottles full and keep moving. It’s a community of stone dealers here, and we’re just part of the fabric of the market. Most days we are just busy checking the new arrivals and making sure the labels are still readable on the slabs. It's a lot of walking.
