Om Sai Ceramics

Our shop, Om Sai Ceramics, is tucked away in Sector-24 of Turbhe. It’s at Changa Smruti, Plot 35. If you know the area, it's pretty industrial but there are a lot of us small businesses squeezed in. We have stacks of ceramics all over the place. Tiles, bathroom fittings, that kind of stuff. It’s a bit of a maze inside because we try to fit as much stock as possible into the space. I usually have a cup of tea sitting somewhere on a stack of floor tiles. The air is often a bit dusty because of all the stone and clay products moving in and out. Most of our day is spent helping people figure out how many boxes they need for a small renovation or just showing them what we have on the floor. It’s not a high-end gallery. People come here because they know we are local and we've been here a while. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow road out front and we have to go out and help guide traffic. It’s just a normal day for us. We don't use fancy software, just some notebooks and the calculator on the desk. It’s been this way for a few years now. We know the neighbors and they know us. It’s a decent way to spend the day. Usually, we close up when it gets dark and start all over again tomorrow. It is hard work but we are used to it.
