Jaybee Steel Treaters Pvt. Ltd. is situated out in the R-524/525 section of the T. T. C Industrial Area in M. I. D. C Rebale. It is a proper industrial setting, so it’s not the quietest or cleanest place to work, but that’s just the nature of steel treating. We have big furnaces and heavy equipment that take up most of the space on the floor. The heat can get pretty intense, especially during the middle of the day, so we all drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade when we aren't at the machines. Being in Rabale means we are surrounded by other factories and workshops, so there is always the sound of trucks and machinery in the background. Our office is just a small partitioned area where we keep the logs and schedules. It’s nothing fancy, just some sturdy furniture and a computer that’s seen better days. We spend a lot of time checking the temperatures and making sure the steel is getting treated exactly right. It’s a lot of physical work and you end up with some grease on your clothes by the end of the shift. The roads around MIDC can be a bit bumpy and dusty, especially when it hasn't rained in a while. We don't have any marketing people or big sales teams. We just stay focused on the work at hand and make sure the steel leaves the shop in the condition it’s supposed to be in.
