N. V. Metal

Our unit is number 33/164 in the Laxman Mhatre Compound. It’s right at Gothivali Gaon Chowk in Rabale West. If you take the train, we’re basically opposite the railway station, which is handy for people trying to find us. We work with metal. Mostly cutting, bending, and supplying different bits and pieces for construction or repair jobs. It’s loud work. There is always the sound of a grinder going or someone moving heavy sheets around. The compound is a bit crowded, but we’ve made our space work for us over the years. We started N. V. Metal because we knew the trade and saw a lot of growth happening around Rabale. The station area is always buzzing with people, so we see a lot of foot traffic near the chowk. We aren't big talkers. We prefer to just look at the specs, give a price, and get the metal ready. Sometimes people come in with just a rough drawing on a napkin, and we have to make sense of it. That’s the part of the job I actually like. It’s practical. No fluff. We keep the floor as clean as you can expect a metal shop to be. Our coffee isn't great, but the work is solid. We've been here long enough that most the local contractors know to come to the Mhatre compound when they're short on supplies.
