Kumar Steel

Our shop, Kumar Steel, is located in Sector-30 of Vashi. You can find us at C4/5 in the Balaji Tawar building. Vashi is a great place to be, even if the traffic near the station can be a bit much sometimes. We’ve been here in this unit for a good few years now. It’s not a huge space, but it’s enough for what we do. We deal with steel every day, so the place is full of heavy items and the smell of metal. It’s practical work. We don't spend money on expensive carpets or fancy lighting. We have our racks and our desk and that’s about it. Most of our day is spent talking to people who come in looking for specific sizes or types of steel. We know most of our regular customers by name. It’s a neighborhood business at heart. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it’s quiet enough to sit and read the paper for a bit. We don't have a big corporate philosophy or any of that. We just try to be fair and do the work correctly. If someone needs something, we find it in the stacks. Balaji Tawar is a familiar landmark for us now. We’ve seen the area change over time, but we just keep doing the same thing. Kumar Steel is a straightforward operation. We show up, we work, and we go home to our families in the evening.
