Vashi is always moving fast, and our office in Mahavir Sadan is right in the middle of it. We are in Flat 201 on Plot 116. It is a solid building, nothing too modern, but it does the job for us. Being in Navi Mumbai means we get a lot of people coming through for business. The office has a lived-in feel to it. There are files everywhere and the printers are usually humming. We don't have a big corporate culture here at Ispat Industries Ltd. It’s more about getting the orders sorted and making sure the numbers add up. The windows look out over the street and you can hear the honking and the people walking to the market. We have a small pantry where we make tea, but mostly we just focus on the work at hand. Vashi has grown so much over the years, and we have seen the changes from this very spot. The building is older than some of the new malls nearby, which we actually prefer. It feels more real and connected to the neighborhood. Sometimes the lift stops working, so we get our exercise climbing up to the second floor. It's just a regular group of people doing a regular job. We don't make a big deal out of things. We just come in, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down. It is a practical way to live.
