Das Fabricators

Das Fabricators is in Gala No S/96 at the Janata Market in Sec-7, Vashi. It’s a busy market area, and our shop is one of many tucked into these units. We do fabrication work, mostly working with iron and steel to make things like window grills, safety doors, and small frames for shops. The space is a bit tight, so we have to be organized, though it doesn't always look that way. There’s always the smell of burnt metal and the sound of hammers hitting iron. We don’t have a professional secretary or any corporate structure. You just come in and talk to whoever is holding the welding mask. We’ve been in Vashi for a long time, and we’ve seen the market change around us. We just stay focused on what we’re doing. Most of our work comes from people in the neighborhood who need something for their homes. We don't do big advertisements; we just rely on people telling their friends about us. It’s a lot of hard work, especially in the summer when the heat in the shop gets really intense. But we just keep at it because it’s what we know how to do. We don’t claim to be anything we aren’t. We’re just a local fabrication shop doing our best to get things built for the people who need them. It’s a busy life but it's okay for us.
