Smit Caterers

We operate out of a small shop in Urvashi Apartment on Motwane Road. It’s right across from the old post office near the Navale Chawl area. Most of what we do isn't happening in the shop itself; we are usually out at someone's house or a rented hall. We’ve been doing catering in Nashik Road for quite a while now. It started small with just a few big pots and a couple of helpers. Now we handle bigger events, but we still do small family dinners too. We don't have a fancy office with brochures. If you want to talk about a menu, you just come by the shop and we sit down on the stools and figure it out. We do mostly local Maharashtrian food because that’s what we grew up eating. My wife helps with the spice mixes, and I handle the logistics of getting the burners and gas cylinders to the venue. Sometimes things go wrong, like a van breaking down or someone forgetting the extra spoons, but we always find a way to make it work. We aren't a big company. It's just us and a few regular boys who help with the serving. We work hard, and our hands usually smell like garlic and onions by the end of the day. We just want people to enjoy the food we make without making it too complicated or expensive. If you see our van parked near the post office, that's just us loading up for the next job.
