Rocky Industries

Rocky Industries is located at 23/60 in Pimplnagar. It’s not a big place, just a simple workshop where we handle metal parts and some light manufacturing. I started this place years ago with just two machines. Now we have five. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since then. There used to be more open ground, but now it’s all small shops and houses. We get to work around eight in the morning. Usually, the first thing I do is check if the machines need oiling. My nephew helps me with the paperwork and the heavy lifting. The floor is made of rough concrete and it’s always got some grease marks on it no matter how much we sweep. We have a small desk in the corner where we keep the invoices and the phone. Sometimes customers just walk in from the street to ask if we can fix a bracket or weld a pipe. We don't have a fancy showroom. Most people find us because they know the Pimplnagar area well. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons under the tin roof, so we usually take a long break for lunch and some tea. We just try to get the work done right so people come back next time they need something fabricated. It’s a quiet life, mostly just the sound of the lathe and the fan spinning overhead. We like it that way and we plan on being here for many more years to come. We just do our bit every day.
