It’s a residential building, so it feels a lot more like a home than a school. To find us, you just look for the Sahyadri Heights building behind Freshup Bakery. It’s funny being so close to another bakery, but we are doing our own thing up here on the sixth floor. Vivek Sovani is the name on the door. The kitchen is usually the busiest room in the flat, full of bowls, spoons, and the smell of whatever is in the oven. We don't have a big staff or a fancy studio. It’s just a place where people come to learn how to cook and bake. Sometimes the elevator in the building takes a while, or the lobby is full of neighbors talking, but that’s just life in an apartment block. We spend a lot of time cleaning up flour from the counters and making sure we have enough ingredients for the next class. The view from the window of Sahyadri Heights is actually quite nice, but we are usually too busy looking at the recipes. It’s a bit cramped when a group is over, but it makes the whole thing feel more personal. We just teach what we know and hope people enjoy the process while they are here in Kala Nagar. It's a simple setup but it works.
