Our group, the Devigirpatnam Rythu Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located at 4-50 in Chinna Gunturpalli. It is a small village and our office is just a simple building that serves as a meeting point for all of us. We are farmers first, so we don't spend all day sitting behind desks. Most of the time, we are out in the fields and only come to the office to settle accounts or talk about grain prices. The address 4-50 is easy to find if you are local. We don't have a big sign or any bright lights. It’s just a place where we keep our tools and our records. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that isn't really a priority for us right now. We care more about how the crops are doing and if the weather is going to hold up. Chinna Gunturpalli is a quiet place where everyone knows each other’s business. We started this company to help ourselves get better prices for our harvests. It’s a team effort and nobody is the boss. We all pitch in and do what needs to be done. We don't have a lot of money for marketing, so we just rely on our reputation in the village and the quality of what we grow. It is a hard life sometimes, but we are used to the work and we like being our own masters.
