Venbaa Farmers Producer Company Limited is found at No. 1B, Muniyan Street in Rasipuram. We are a small collective of farmers who decided it was time to work together instead of competing against each other all the time. Rasipuram is a good place for farming, but the costs of everything keep going up. At our spot on Muniyan Street, we try to pool our resources so we can get things like seeds and equipment a bit cheaper. It’s not a corporate office with people in suits. Most of us come straight from the fields, maybe with a bit of dirt still on our clothes. We talk about what’s growing, what the prices are like at the mandi, and how we can help each other out. Sometimes we help a neighbor with their harvest if they’re running behind. We aren't looking to become some massive company; we just want to make a decent living from our land. The work is hard and the days are long, but it feels better when you’re doing it with people you’ve known your whole life. We deal with whatever the local soil gives us, mostly staying focused on what we know best. It’s a lot of practical, everyday stuff. If you come by Muniyan Street, you might find us drinking tea and figuring out the plan for the next month. It’s just us doing our best with what we have.
