K. R. R. Poultry Farm

We run K. R. R. Poultry Farm over at No. 65/36- H on Salem Road. It’s a busy area because of all the traffic moving toward Salem, but we’ve got our spot set up just right. Working with poultry means our days start very early, usually before the sun is even up properly. There’s a lot to do with feeding the birds and making sure the sheds are clean and the water is running right. It’s not an easy job and it’s definitely not a clean one, but it’s what we know. The office is just a small room near the entrance where we keep the records and talk to the people who come to buy. Most of our day is spent outside or in the sheds rather than sitting behind a desk. We’ve been on Salem Road for quite some time now, and we’ve seen the area grow quite a bit. Even with all the new shops, we just keep focusing on our farm. It can get pretty loud with the birds and the trucks on the road, but you get used to it after a while. We don’t have any fancy equipment, just the basics that have worked for us for years. It’s hard work, especially when the weather gets really hot, but we stay on top of things as best as we can. We’re just a local farm trying to do things the right way without making a big fuss about it.
