Rasipuram Collective Farming Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are just a group of farmers from the Rasipuram area who decided it was better to work together than on our own. Our main office is located at 4/69 Vayakadu in Minnakkal, which is right in the heart of the farming belt here in Namakkal. It isn't a fancy place with big signs, just a room where we meet up to discuss what to plant and how to deal with the weather. Farming around here is tough sometimes because of the rain being unpredictable, so we try to help each other out with seeds or tools when someone gets stuck. Most days you’ll find some of us sitting around on the plastic chairs in the Minnakkal office, just talking about the market prices. It started because a few neighbors realized that buying things in bulk was cheaper. We don’t have some big corporate strategy, we just want to make sure the families in our collective get some money for their crops at the end of the season. The office is right there on the local road, so people drop by all the time with their tractors or just to have a tea and complain about the pests. It’s hard work being out in the sun all day, but having this farmer producer company makes it feel a bit more organized. We handle everything ourselves from the paperwork to loading the bags. It's just a local thing for local people, doing what we can with the land.
