If you head over to Vanigar Street in Velam Village, you’ll find us at number 36/1. We are the Aruvanadu Producer Company. This isn't a fancy office with glass walls; it’s just a building where we get our work done. We are a bunch of local producers who decided that working together was better than working alone. In a village like Velam, you have to look out for each other. We handle various things that the local farmers grow or make. Some days are slow, and we just sit and drink tea while discussing the rain. Other days, it’s a mad rush to get everything sorted and moved out. We’ve had our share of mistakes and learning moments since we started. It wasn't always smooth sailing, and we are still figuring some things out as we go. Our families live nearby, and this company is basically an extension of our community life. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just talk to people face to face. The street is usually narrow and busy, but we've been here long enough that it feels like home. We focus on what we can produce right here in our own backyard. It is a way for us to stay connected to the land while trying to build something that lasts for our kids. It’s just us, doing what we know how to do in Velam.
